How we work
Every engagement follows the same five steps, whether it is a two-week advisory project or a desk that runs for years.
Each step ends in a written decision rather than on a date, and you can stop after any of them. What changes between engagements is the scope and the model, not the process.

Five steps, every time
No step ends on a date. Each one ends in a written decision, and you can stop after any of them. See the framework applied in our representative engagements.
- Step 01
Assess
1 to 4 weeksModel, volume, risk, timeline, and constraints. Written recommendation on program structure.
Midcore reads the client’s actual records (statements, contracts, dispute files, boarding files, code, cloud bills, pipeline reports, whichever apply) and talks to the people doing the work today. Client provides read-only access or exports, 2 to 4 hours of team time, and the governing contracts and policies. Client receives a written read of one to three pages: what is happening, what it costs or risks, which services fit and which do not, and a recommended first engagement with scope and price. Assess is quoted separately and the client can stop after it and keep the read.
- Step 02
Match
Days to one weekPartner shortlist from our network, introductions, and diligence.
Services, engagement model, coverage, and the named practice lead are chosen. Client receives a one-page engagement outline.
- Step 03
Structure
1 to 2 weeksEconomics, terms, compliance responsibilities, and operating model.
The scope document is written: what Midcore does, what the client keeps, what is not touched, the access list, the policies applied, the report template, service levels, and the escalation path. After this, scope changes go through written change orders.
- Step 04
Build
2 to 12 weeksBranded platform, onboarding, and integrations on the partner’s rails.
The work that creates the thing: a parallel run for an operations desk, sprints for software, migration waves for cloud, channel setup for marketing, the comparison and recommendation for advisory, onboarding for a placed team. Ends when the go-live checklist is met, not on a date.
- Step 05
Launch
Go-live onwardGo-live, first customers, and handoff to your team or our managed operations.
The desk takes the queue, the system goes to production, the recommendation is handed over, or the placed team reports to the client’s manager. Reporting begins. For managed services the first review is at 30 days and the first policy review at 90.
Four ways to buy
Chosen at the Match step, once the Assess read says what the work actually is. Any core service can run under any of them.
Consulting project
Defined scope, fixed fee or milestones. Assessments, partner selections, strategy, audits, and launch programs.
A defined question with a defined deliverable and an end date. Includes the Assess read, working sessions, the written deliverable, a walkthrough with the people who will act on it, and 30 days of follow-up questions.
Best whenThe output is a decision or an artefact and the client’s team runs what comes after.
Managed service retainer
A dedicated team running a function on a monthly agreement with SLAs and reporting. Disputes, merchant management, back office, support, and cloud.
A desk running a recurring function monthly. Includes a named desk lead, defined coverage hours, response-time commitments where they apply, a weekly report, monthly and quarterly reviews, and maintained policies and templates. Month-to-month after an initial term.
Best whenThe work arrives every week.
Dedicated team
Named specialists or engineers embedded in your organization under your direction, on monthly terms.
Named people assigned full-time, led by a Midcore lead, working the client’s backlog in the client’s tools. Includes recruitment, replacement, management, a US-based lead, and weekly reporting.
Best whenVolume justifies full-time attention and continuity matters.
Fixed price project
Engineering, design, and marketing builds with defined deliverables, timeline, and price.
An agreed outcome at an agreed price, change-controlled. Includes the scope document with acceptance criteria, a schedule, and a change-order process.
Best whenScope is settled after Assess and budget certainty matters most.

What you can hold us to
Ten commitments that hold on every engagement, whatever the service and whatever the delivery model.
- 01
The scope is written down before work starts, and changed only in writing.
- 02
No referral fees, commissions, or revenue shares from any vendor recommended. If a vendor offers one, the offer is disclosed to the client and declined.
- 03
The client owns everything built: policies, templates, models, code, runbooks, content. Ownership transfers as each deliverable is accepted.
- 04
Midcore works in the client’s systems unless there is a written reason not to: their portals, CRM, cloud accounts, repositories.
- 05
Reporting is weekly and built from the client’s data, not from a summary of it. Every number traces to a record the client can open.
- 06
Midcore says when the problem is upstream of what it was hired for.
- 07
Midcore never holds, transmits, or settles funds, and never asks for access it does not need. Access is scoped, logged, and revocable.
- 08
A US-based lead owns every engagement. Global delivery centres extend coverage and capacity; they do not change accountability.
- 09
Midcore says when an engagement should shrink.
- 10
Every engagement has a named lead with a direct line, and response-time commitments live in the scope document.
