Who it is for

Built for every buyer we serve

Individuals entering the industry, existing sales organizations adding payments, and software companies building a reseller channel.

The problem

Why this costs you money

These are the failure modes we see most often in Payments & Fintech Advisory.

01

Agent agreements are full of terms that cost you residuals later, and they are signed without review every day.

02

New agents are sold on buy rates they do not understand, and lose deals or margin as a result.

03

Most new entrants quit within a year because they never built a pipeline process.

What you get

Everything included, in writing

Scope is written down before work starts, and changed only in writing. Nothing is added or dropped without a written change order.

  • 01Business model choice: registered ISO, sub-ISO, independent agent, or referral partner
  • 02Processor and ISO partner introductions matched to your target verticals
  • 03Agreement review: residual terms, vesting, portability, exclusivity, and termination
  • 04Pricing and statement analysis training
  • 05Tools: CRM, proposal templates, statement analysis, and compliance checklist
  • 0690-day market entry plan with targets and weekly cadence

All 6 are written into the scope document before work starts. What you actually need is settled on the call, after the Assess read.

Why Midcore

What makes this different

These are specific to Payments & Fintech Advisory, and they are in the scope document rather than only on this page.

01

The recommendation follows the numbers

Referral, ISO, PayFac, and BaaS modelled side by side on your own volume and merchant mix, before any partner is named.

02

Terms read before you sign

Revenue share, interchange, reserves, liability, termination, and data ownership reviewed line by line, not summarised.

03

A shortlist, not one introduction

Providers matched on vertical acceptance, risk appetite, and API quality, then cut down after technical review and references.

04

Nothing paid by the partner

We take no fee from anyone we recommend, so the shortlist is a recommendation rather than a sales pipeline.

Proof

What clients say

We publish no client names. These describe the shape of real engagements in Payments & Fintech Advisory.

We had been quoted eighteen months and seven figures to register as a PayFac. Midcore mapped the alternative in two weeks and told us plainly that our volume did not justify it yet. That conversation saved us a year.
VP ProductVertical SaaS platform
Sponsor bank diligence had stalled us twice. Midcore rebuilt the package (policies, flow of funds, program narrative) and we were approved on the next pass.
Head of ComplianceEmbedded banking platform
Our agents were spending half their week on paperwork. The desk took the boarding queue, the disputes, and the residual reconciliation. Same headcount on the sales side, materially more selling.

Questions buyers ask

Straight answers

The questions that come up on almost every ISO / Agent Setup Consulting call, answered before you have to ask them.

Do I need to be registered with the card brands?
Independent agents under a registered ISO do not. Registering your own ISO requires sponsorship and annual fees; we advise on when that makes sense.
Can you get me a processor relationship?
We introduce you to processors and ISOs in our network that fit your profile and coach you through their onboarding. Approval is their decision.
How much can an agent earn?
Residual splits in this industry commonly run somewhere between 50 and 70 percent of net revenue to the agent, but the real number depends on the processor, your negotiated pricing, and portfolio size. We model your specific numbers against the agreement you are evaluating rather than quote a generic figure that will not match your deal.
What does it actually take to become an ISO instead of an independent agent?
An independent agent sells under an existing ISO's registration. Becoming your own registered ISO means your sponsoring acquirer files your registration with the card networks, reviews your finances and background, and holds you to PCI DSS and ongoing compliance obligations. We help you decide which structure actually fits your volume and timeline before you commit to either.
How does an engagement start?
Every engagement opens with an Assess. We read your actual records and talk to the people doing the work today, then send back a written read of one to three pages: what is happening, what it costs or risks, which services fit, and which do not. It runs 1 to 4 weeks.
What does ISO / Agent Setup Consulting cost?
Every engagement is custom quoted after an Assess step. There is no rate card, no published pricing, and no standard engagement. The Assess is quoted separately and up front, and the engagement that follows is quoted against the scope you agree at the end of it.
Can we stop after the Assess?
Yes. The Assess is priced on its own and the written read is yours to keep whether or not you continue. If the problem is upstream of what we would be hired for, that goes in the read too.

Still not sure ISO / Agent Setup Consulting is what you need?

That is what the Assess is for. Book a 30-minute call and we will tell you which service fits, whether you need one at all, and what the first engagement would cost. We will also tell you when the answer is no.
